The Monkey Cup

We took a road trip to the Wildlife Education Center in Entebbe last week. Moo Moo promised Naomi a lot of monkeys and this time he delivered. We saw great animals - rhinos, lions, crested cranes, warthogs - and about 50 vervet monkeys running around. While I was carrying Naomi, one brazen monkey jumped up and grabbed her beloved snack cup filled with berries and nuts. He ran away with it and climbed the tree. The guards and others tried to help us (see green cup with monkey below) but the monkey dropped the cup after he devoured the contents.

Naomi seems to remember this moment very well and tells the story daily and does an imitation of the monkey with the cup (below). She usually tells the story: "Monkey, cup, berries, nuts!"
