Zimbabwe

Back to Zimbabwe! It was a very short one week trip to check out an opportunity for a new project there and I was thrilled to go back. Dollarization continues to have a profound stabilizing effect on the country and I met some incredible people and organizations doing great community development work. Believe it or not, I even found Cadbury Creme Eggs at the Spar supermarket. Naomi's easter basket is brimming with goodies already. I also got to catch up briefly with Karen, Chris and the girls and Mana Lauren. 

 

I saw the turtle at the airport in Johannesburg (good shopping there since the World Cup make-over!). The sculpture is part of a project to use old forgotten flip flops found on the Kenyan coast to create sculpture. He was almost a meter long but very lightweight because of the materials used.
