YouthMapping

For the past few months I've been working on a new assignment in Uganda researching opportunities and challenges for young people. We are putting together a situational analysis (a map, if you will) based on focus groups and interviews in 12 districts of Uganda and focusing on 15-30 year olds. Truly fascinating work that took me through the western and southwestern part of the country. I have a new appreciation for Ugandan cuisine and the rising price of commodities throughout the country - it is no joke!

The wheel fell off our car (literally) at this most gorgeous spot in Lake Bunyoni in the southwest. Incredible day. It only took 7 hours to get it fixed, including boda boda travel time from town with the spare parts. I didn't think it was going to happen at all after the sound the car made...

More car trouble during the rainy season. We were doing an interview down a steep hill at the local council member's house. It took her whole village and two hours to get us back up the hill.
