Last week was a big challenge for the Foan/Heuislers. Naomi started to get sick and then Lendell started to get chills. We tried to rule out malaria and after a few different clinics we ended up at a great hospital here in Kampala. Naomi was admitted with a bacterial infection and had to get iv antibiotics and fluids. Lendell was sent home with a similar diagnosis for rest and medicine. Needless to say, Naomi on an iv is not a fun thing to experience, but we were glad to get great treatment at the hospital in the end. Although she thought her iv port was "nice" and "pretty" when she wasn't getting fed with antibiotics, we are glad to be out of that stage.

Our dear friend Jen was also staying with us and once Naomi started to mend, she loved having laugh festivals with her auntie on the porch.
Everyone seems better this week and Naomi is back to telling us everything we see is the color blue, singing twinkle twinkle little star and making her own passion fruit juice. The rains have started again and we are re-planting the veggie garden as the grass grows deep, emerald green again.
