January 28th - February 3rd - Birthday Week!!

We started the week with the birth of my sister Wendy and my brother (in law) Chad’s first child – Joshua. It is weird but amazing to think that my little sister is a mom – but it is completely fitting. I can’t wait to meet the new bundle of joy – and play the role of the crazy uncle! Though his parents have already introduced him to the madness that is the New England sports fan:February 1st was Kate’s birthday and we celebrated by taking a long weekend (Thursday – Monday) in Bali - as one does. We were blessed to be joined by Brian, Diane, Sean and Chi Chi to celebrate while we were in Ubud (check out www.komaneka.com/Komaneka/Resort/English

On the food front, the highlight for us was Kate’s b-day dinner when the two of us went out to our favorite restaurant Moziac - where the staff know us by name and treat us like superstars and for foodies like us the menu with wine pairings really had our taste buds dancing.

For the weekend we traveled down from Ubud to Seminyak where we met up with Laurie and Erika who were both on assignments in the area (Laurie - was working in Timor and smuggled in all sorts of goodies for us - thanks for the awesome care package - and Erika was working in Indonesia).

It was an amazing weekend filled with great conversations, many laughs and tons of good food.
